GST-916Now you can do your GST returns in Xero and send them straight to NZ Inland Revenue electronically. No more filling out a form online; nothing to print, sign or post.

Most GST filers are eligible

You’re eligible for Xero’s eGST if you’re authorised to file GST returns for your business and you’re a registered myIR user.

Xero takes care of GST whether you normally file a GST only return, or a combined GST plus provisional tax return. You just need to choose your provisional income tax method in Xero. If you’re not sure which kind of return the IRD is expecting you to file, check with Alliotts.

Make sure you get it right!

The efficiency benefits of eGST are exciting for those Xero users who are eligible but, at the same time, we caution that you file all information correctly.

The Inland Revenue’s interest and penalties regime is prohibitively expensive if you get it wrong. If you are concerned you may get it wrong or regularly have tricky or complex transactions ask us to review your GST at GST time.
