You are now able to sign your tax return electronically and email this back to your accountant.
If your accountant has not told you yet, it is certain that he or she will do so very shortly.
So how does it work?
Once the Tax Return is completed, your accountant will send it to you through your Xero software.
This will come to you in an email with a link that you can click on and be able to view the tax return. You can review the document by logging into Xero using your Xero credentials.
Once you have reviewed the return and are satisfied that it is all okay you are ready to sign it and send it back to your accountant.
You will obviously use your full legal name to complete that field as is on record with IRD. When you do this the system will prompt a signature on the signature field. You can use the pen if you have a “touch” screen or the mouse if you prefer.
Click to “accept the terms” and click on the blue “Sign” Button.
This action stores the Tax Return on the portal for you to access anytime in the future.
It will also, prompt updating in Xero Tax.
It’s as simple as that!
No need to try fitting catch up meetings with your accountant over your returns or have to deal with missing paper trails. Xero takes care of this in the background.
